The Eastern Cape of South Africa is home to a number of schools which have a long history of participation in aquatic sports, with many of these schools dating from the Victorian era - like Kingswood College in Grahamstown - built by the descendants of the 1820 Settlers. There are also many state schools like Grey High, and private schools like Woodridge College that have excellent aquatic sports programs. Eastern Province schools teams have particiapted in the national primary and high schools championships for many years. Some schools like Die Bult in George have a swimming history, but the school no longer exists. Unfortunately little information about aquatic sports history is vailable online.
